When heavy rains and flooding threatened to disrupt academic activities across Ghana in June, the Institute of Distance Learning (IDL) at KNUST responded quickly and decisively.

The Institute’s Management successfully shifted all face-to-face classes online, ensuring that Block 1 of the second semester proceeded seamlessly, keeping the thousands of students safe and on track.

This smooth transition was no accident.

IDL management had already invested in a strong digital infrastructure, equipping the institute with modern e-learning studios and upgraded software capable of delivering high-quality virtual classes to thousands of students at once.

While flooding brought parts of the country to a standstill, learning continued uninterrupted in IDL's digital classrooms.

The swift response earned widespread commendation from students across various learning centres, who appreciated that their safety and education were both protected.
