IDL HOSTS SECOND “FRUITS AND FITNESS” EVENT TO PROMOTE WELLNESS

On Thursday, April 17, 2025, the Institute of Distance Learning (IDL) at KNUST held the second edition of its “Fruits and Fitness” event, reinforcing its commitment to health and wellness. Staff from across Ghana participated in fitness activities and enjoyed a variety of fresh fruits.

The event featured a mental health talk by Mr. Joseph Asamoah-Gyawu, the Institute’s Counsellor, who emphasized the importance of mental well-being and highlighted signs of mental health struggles. He encouraged open conversations and reminded staff of the free resources available at the KNUST Counselling Centre.

Mr. Charles Apprey, Assistant Examinations Officer, also advised staff to prioritize regular health checkups, especially as they age.

The initiative, led by Prof. Anthony Andrews, continues to foster a healthier, more connected workplace culture.
