Biography

Maurin Efua Odai is an Assistant Registrar at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. She had her primary education in Cape-Coast and Tema respectively and then proceeded to Tema Secondary School for her secondary education. She moved to the University College of Management Studies,

Kumasi Where she graduated with BSc in Human Resource Management. She obtained her MBA at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi in 2015 where she specialized in Human Resource Management.

Her area of interest is in Capacity Building, Mentoring, Employee Relations, and Work and Organizational behaviour. Maurin is currently an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, Ghana.

Prior to her appointment as an Assistant Registrar, Maurin worked as a Fire Woman with the Ghana National Fire Service, Tema, and a Secretary to the Victory Baptist Church, Kumasi respectively. She did a one-year internship at the School of Business, Department of Human Resource Management, KNUST. She also worked with the Office of Grants and Research, KNUST as a Research Administrator, identifying funding opportunities for senior members. She has also been involved in general administrative and academic duties.

As an Assistant Registrar, she headed the Student Affairs and Financial Services Office and was responsible for the welfare and administrative matters concerning students. She kept and updated student records as well as solicited funding and managed student scholarships and bursaries. Currently, Maurin is one of the Southern Zonal coordinators of the KNUST Institute of Distance learning (IDL). She provides academic and administrative support to study centers in the Southern Zone.

She monitors activities and provides strategic direction for the Southern zone. She provides needed logistics for facilitation, markets IDL within the zone to stay competitive, and collaborates with other Center Coordinators to provide needed environment and support for all IDL activities. She has also served as secretary to several Committees.

Maurin is a Christian and worships with Calvary Charismatic Center Kumasi, (CCC). She is a teacher at the School for Christian Development, a Marriage Counsellor, a Greeter, and a member of the Starting Point Ministry. She also belongs to the Charismatic Ladies Ministry. She is married to Professor Samuel Nii Odai and is blessed with three children.
