Dr. Collins Kwabena Osei

Dr. C.K. Osei is a Senior Research Fellow and former Vice Dean of KNUST-IDL. Born in Kumasi, Dr. Osei attended the then Government Secondary School, Tamale. At University of Ghana, Legon, he took a Diploma in Agriculture and obtained his MSc. in Agricultural Extension and a certificate in Desk-Top Publishing in the University of Reading, United Kingdom in 1989. Dr. Osei proceeded to the University of Ibadan where he obtained his Ph.D in Educational Evaluation in 1998. He has to his credit several professional certificates including: Maize Agronomy and Production (CIMMYT/Mexico, 1982). Training of Trainers in Agricultural Development (USDA/Washington, 1986); Agricultural Research Management and Statistics and Statistical Computing (IITA/Ibadan, 1997); Participatory Planning, Management and Evaluation of Sustainable Development Actions (ABOS/Belgium, 1999); Mentoring Female Agricultural scientists (AWARD/ Mombassa-Kenya, 2008) and Integrated Seed Curriculum Development (AGRA, Zimbabwe, 2015)

Dr. Osei joined KNUST-IDL from the Crops Research Institute, Kumasi in May, 2007 as a Senior research Fellow and was the Head of the CDCE from 2007 to September 2012. He was also the acting Vice Dean of the Institute from 2009 to 2015. In his career in academia, Dr. Osei teaches a number of Postgraduate and Undergraduate courses in the Department of Agriculture Economics, Agribusiness and Extension, and the Institute of Distance Learning, KNUST.

He has to his credit several journal publications and conference papers in Agriculture and Distance Education. His most recent research studies have focused on tracer studies and trend analysis of graduate students in distance learning.
